Corey grew up in Thief River Falls, MN with dreams of playing professional hockey. At the age of 20, he was told in no uncertain terms he should pursue a different career. He subsequently went to Concordia College for undergrad, with a quick stop at the University of Oxford for a year to pursue microbiology research. At Yale, he completed the MD-PhD program, conducting his PhD in the lab of Todd Constable, researching individual differences in the developing functional connectome. At Penn, he is a research track resident in the psychiatry program. He is thrilled to be in Philly and looks forward to watching the MN Wild take down the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center.
Fun Facts
- 1. Lived and played hockey in Fairbanks, AK for a year following high school.
2. Obsessed with bikram yoga--I do a killer triangle pose.
3. Got in a fight with a piece of BBQ chicken and lost. (Have the scar to prove it.)
