Analiese Lahey

MD Student

B.S.

University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

Originally from Kansas City, Analiese received her Bachelor's in Neuroscience from UNC Chapel Hill. During undergrad, she did research in Dr Kent Rossman's lab focusing on RAS signaling in cancer, with her capstone project focusing on ARHGAP11A and ARHGAP11B in breast cancer. Afterwards, Analiese completed a Fulbright research grant at the Max Planck Institute in Dresden studying neural development gene, ARHGAP11B's role in glioblastoma. Analiese is currently a second year medical student at Penn, with hopes to one day become a psychiatrist. She is particularly interested in potential new treatments for psychological disorders, in particular those considered treatment resistant. At PennLINC, Analiese helps with the meta-analysis review on psychedelics and their applications in psychiatry.

Outside of school, Analiese loves biking, hiking, playing squash, happy hours, random side projects, and exploring Philly.

Fun Facts

    1. Currently making her own kombucha in the pantry
    2. Saw an actively erupting volcano this summer (with lava!!)
    3. Is unironically from Kansas
