We are beside ourselves with joy following the announcement that PennLINC post-doc Sheila Shanmugan has been awarded the NIH Director's DP5 Early Independence Award. This absurdly competitive grant is open to exceptional young scientists across all fields of medicine, and allows them to skip the extended training process and immediately start their own lab. CONGRATS, SHEILA!!!!
